Microsoft Ads Activates New Automated Bidding Options

Microsoft Ads advertisers can now take advantage of the “Maximize Conversions” and “Target CPA” automated bidding strategies.

Microsoft has recently made two new automated bidding options available to all advertisers, aimed at simplifying campaign management and improving conversion performance. Microsoft Ads users can now choose between “Maximize Conversions” and “Target CPA.”

The “Maximize Conversions” option attempts to generate as many conversions as possible within the assigned budget. “Target CPA,” on the other hand, tries to keep the cost per conversion at a level specified by the advertiser. This allows a business to set the amount it’s willing to pay per new customer and let Microsoft’s systems handle the rest.

When either of these bidding strategies is selected, Microsoft’s algorithms adjust bids in real time based on the probability that a click will result in a conversion. This estimate draws on a variety of signals, including the user’s location and the past performance of the ads. The result is a more hands-off experience for advertisers, who can optimize their ad spend without manually adjusting bids. That said, it’s worth noting that while these features are genuinely useful, they aren’t always perfectly accurate. Regular campaign monitoring is therefore advisable to ensure performance continues to meet your expectations.
